Blogging Day 290: Happy 21st Birthday BRO!

My youngest brother turned 21!

GO HIM!!!!

I've also reealized that I am no longer a 21 year old and can not live on less then 8 hours of sleep. I've tried, but I can not. Well, technically I can. I just will not be entirely functional. Functions like patiences, deep thought and walking in straight lines tend to be not working.  Plus, they say it helps with weight loss.

No more staying up til 1am...crap.

30 Day Song Challenge: Day 14 - A song that no one would expect you to love

This song makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... which is why people would be surpirsed I liked it. Not a big fan of country love songs.

I think I need to go kill some Zombies on Resident Evil to get this romantic lovie dovie feeling out of me...

Blogging Day 284: Hello Kitty XBox 360

For my birthday I got an Xbox 360 along with 'Dragon Age 2'.

Xbox 360 4GB Console

Dragon Age 2

Our old Xbox 360 broke and while breaking damaged my old DA2.

FYI, my romantic interest  in DA2 is Fernis.

Why? Why not. Emo guys do it for me ;op

Anyway, this is the first time I have gotten a console. Usually I wait it out and  get my brothers to spend all their money. I'm sneaky like that.

I decided since this is MY XBox 360, I'm going to girlify it.

I went and grabbed all girly things I could attach to my Xbox.

This is what I found:

Of course I couldn't use everything, but I didn't have a true plan in mind yet. The possiblities were endless.

This is what I came up with:

The front I kept simple. Just a few pink sparkles and a sticker. This gems had little stickies on the back, so need for glue here.

Now for the top:

I tried so hard to get a good picture of the Hello Kitty, but it was so hard since the words were so shiny. The Hello Kitty decoration is from the box that had the 100 point gift from Sephora I got and showed everyone on Blogging Day 172. I kept the box because I thought it was so cool and I knew I would do something with it!

Most of the gems had stickies on the back, but the ones that didn't I used super glue.  The two big round glitter pink circles boarding the Hello Kitty, are actually buttons. I cut off the backs and glued them on! Buttons can be used on ANYTHING!!!

Note to self: find a different glue besides super glue. When it drys it turns white and it looks messy. Anyone have any suggestions?

Either way I had alot of fun! I bling-blinged my Xbox 360, and made it my own! Sometimes I feel the gaming companies do not give us girls enough in variety. Of course, making my own variety is always better.

Also, I marked my controller too! No guess work on who this one belongs too!

I used the skull and sneaker because I kick butt and bring death to evil doers with this controller. :D Watch out Zombies!!

Of course, I just went up stairs and saw my communist brother using my controller. He states that he is very secure in his man hood and has no problem playing with a pink controller....grrr...

Water- Good, but with the heat being so bad today I think I should have had more.
Veggies- Tomatoes, carrots and broccoli.  I had fresh carrots, not yucky old soap tasting ones. Real baby carrots, because Make sure they are real baby carrots.

Blogging Day 119: Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Trailer

It is true the trailer is finally out!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited!!

Plus Zombies!

Definitely a must see!

Veggie & Fruit Update:

I learned today that my can of peaches is 3 servings of fruit. I forgot the salad last night, even though I said I was going to make it at the end of the last blog. Unfortunately, I was so tired, I went straight to bed after I posted last night's blog. I did have two servings for dinner, I had one serving eating clementines ( it took about 5 to eat a whole serving. Unfortunately I grabbed a bad batch.) and I load my salami sandwich with tons of vegetables to get one serving.

FYI- I live in Maryland and it is cold enough here now that we have been getting dusted with snow three times in the past week. Tomorrow they are calling for 1-2 inches! Should be fun driving home from work tomorrow!

Anyone else getting snow?

Blogging Day 77: Zombie Cupcakes

This past Friday for work, we had a Halloween party, and I decided to dress up as a zombie. We also had a to bring a side dish or dessert, and my first thought was to make vampire cupcakes. I had made them for a friend, who was a fan of True Blood, for her birthday a couple months back.

They are basically vanilla cupcakes with cherry filling. I found them extremely cute and tasty.

I thought dressing up as a zombie and bringing vampire cupcakes was a bit of cross branding. You know when you Chanel sunglasses while carrying a Prada bag. Very no-no. ( Of course I do it all the time, but do as I say not as I do. ) My point is,I decided to be a little inventive and create the ' ZOMBIE CUPCAKE'.

I named it myself. I am so proud of my little zombies.  Sometimes I find my awesomeness to be to much, don't you? Alas, its a burden we must all endure.

Ingredients you will need:

Vanilla/Yellow/White Cupcake Mix( already mixed together)
Green Food Coloring
Cupcake Cups
Can of Cherry Pie filling
Chocolate Powder
2 Pastry bags
Icing Tips
Chop Stick

First drop about three drops of green dye into your already mixed together cake mix.

I am using a Kitchen Aid, but any mixer will do. Even if it's the old fashion, stone age tool, the spoon. Keep adding three drops at a time until you get the desired green color that YOU want.

Line your cupcake pan with the cupcake cups and cook them according to the cake box instructions. Or if you are hard core, your own recipe.  I have yet to master the cake, my cake's always come out bland and tasteless, but one day I will achieve my goal of making a delicious cake by hand.

Now that you have all the cupcakes baked. Set them aside to cool down.

REMEMBER: DO NOT walk away and leave your cupcakes unprotected. Your family members need only one minute alone with your cupcakes to cupcake-nap them.

Next you need to puree the cherry pie filling. Again, I used the Kitchen Aid, but any way you can get those cherries pureed is good.

After your cupcakes are cooled down, cut a triangle shaped hole in your cupcake. Set aside the cut out top.

Take your pureed cherry pie filling and fill one of the pastry bags. Fill up the holes in your cupcakes with the filling.

Now, take the piece that was cut out and remove the access cake, so that all you have left is the crust and cover up the filling.

Set the cupcakes aside, and now work on the icing.

Again, add three drops of food coloring, mix and continue until you have the desired green color.

Using a plain circle tip at the end of the pastry bag, fill up the bag with the lovely green icing. Ice the cupcakes until you have a nice layer of icing.

Place your cupcakes in the fridge for about 15-30mins, so the icing will set.
After the icing has hardened, remove from fridge.
To smooth out the icing you will need an icing spatula and a cup of hot water.

Using the heated spatula, smooth out the icing. I find it easier when the icing is set because I do not move all the icing, just the top layer.

Now with the chopstick you are going to make impressions that look like teeth. It took me awhile to get the hang of it, but after a while I got pretty good. Amazing, the kind of skills you will acquire if you try.

Taking the chocolate powder, sprinkle around the teeth marks to get the desired rotted out bite look. You can also wet the end of the chopstick and pat the chocolate powder onto the teeth marks. I did both, it all depends what you find easier.

Now, for the last step, take your left over pureed cherry filling and add the blood marks. Again, practice makes perfect.

ALL DONE!

Perfect for Halloweens parties, horror movie night, zombie movie premieres, all night marathons of Resident Evil 4, or in celebration of the new show 'The Walking Dead'( Trailer Below).

Have fun! Remember: Be Creative, Be Imaginative and Make it your own!

Blogging Day 73: Ten Things I Learned from Resident Evil 4

After 23 hours, 19minutes and 34 seconds of my life I have finally defeated Resident Evil 4(an old game, but I’ve just been busy). I know ...I know. I am so awesome.
I started watching my brothers playing the game and I thought, hey this is cool.( I beat the game before them by the way :OP ) Hours later Zerila is addicted!!!! At times it was sleep... Resident Evil 4...sleep... Resident Evil 4…sleep.....RESIDENT EVIL 4!
In the middle of the night it starts to get hard to focus on your target.
My ultra cool stats were:
Hit Ratio: 63%... Well they died in the long run anyways
Enemies Killed:  974.... Yeah baby yeah!!!
    # of times killed: 71...stupid bad guys
My brother and I compiled this list of 10 important things we have learned since playing this game. Very valuable information that everyone should know
1.  Just because you shot a person's head off doesn't mean he/she is dead. Only when he/she turns to dust, is he/she dead.  (Stupid Las Plagas...)
2.    If you hear a chainsaw, it's time to start running. (My other brother says this should be a universal rule
3.    Never go on a vacation to rural Europe. You'll end up in a village ban fire or worse...
4.    Rural villages in Europe with only about 20 houses have close to 600+ population.
5.    If you join a religion and they require you to shot unknown substance into your body... it’s time to find a different path of enlightenment.
6.    Ballistic missiles are another name for the female attributes.  (Seriously, who writes this stuff?!?!?!)
7.     If you are not familiar with the waters you are about to swim in think twice. Who knows what is living underneath those calm waters.
8.    When you decided to become a President's daughter knowledge in the gun department would be a wise idea, especially before going on vacations in Europe. It makes it easier for your rescuer to rescue if you aren't completely incompetent.
9.     Do not attack the cows.... they have a mean kick.
10.  Even though the entire area is going wacko, you can still find some quack who is trying to make money off of it.
These are the most valuable things I learned while playing the game. If you have more important knowledge that needs to be shared with the world, Please add your wise words.
Now, off to Resident Evil 5! Plus, I get to play a girl this time! I don't know about you other gamer girls, but sometimes I just pass over a game because there is no option to play the best gender of all time!
