Blogging Day 164: Found Awesome Craft Organizer!

I was wondering around Walmart and look what I found for $19.99!

I found this in the tool isle, and I almost missed it but I noticed something purple (I know it looks more purple blue but it is a lilac purple) in a very male tool box yellow and black isle.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The tool box is basically made up of three different size removable boxes.
Measurements:
Large: 4" x 3"
Medium: 3" x 2"
Small: 2" x 1.5"
Under side of the organizers.
The boxes have tiny little feet and with the concaved circles on the bottom spaced out all over for the tiny boxes, you can organizer the different sizes anyway you wish.
The top also has little notches to keep the boxes in place.
I did a test to see how tight the close was with sequins. Basically, I closed it up and shaked it a bit and as you can tell, the lid does not close that tight.
This is what I ended keeping in the organizer. I still have the sequins in the here, but only until I can figure out how else I can better store them. Until then I will be putting it away lying down, probably under my dresser.
Let me know if you guys have any ideas on how to store sequins!
Veggie/Water: STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID! I was so bad this weekend. I didn't even think about it! It drives me up the wall that I forget. Finally listening to a friend of mine, I am going to be writing it down in a pad that I will keep with me 24/7.
Blogging Day 158: Flower Pen Fun
The Hair Cuttery that I go to has these pens that have flowers on top and I always wanted to make one for myself. At my recent trip to the dollar store I ran across the flower arranging tape they use to create the pens, so I decided it was high time I make some flower pens of my own. Of course, I couldn't just stop at just attaching a flower to my pen. I had to embellish them to "Princess Zerila Bling- Bling" status.
Let's begin!
Here are the items you are going to need:
1. Artificial Flowers
2. Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
3. Craft String of Pearls with Flat Backs
4. Scissors
5. Pens
6. Black Permanent Marker
7. Flower Arranging Green Tape ( the tape has the stickiness of a post-it note)
8. Embellishments- I used sequins and flat back gems.
First Step:
Choose the flower you wish to use and cut the flower off leaving one inch of stem to work with. Remove as many leaves as you wish to use for your pen and place them underneath the flower. Once you have arranged how you want your flower and leaves to look, using the green tape, secure them together. Do not cut off tape!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Step 2: Attach the flower to the pen

Place your flower next to the top of the pen and begin wrapping til flower is secure.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 3: Wrapping the Pen
Once the flower is secure, being wrapping the tape up til you cover the top of the pen and no plastic stem is showing. Then begin working your way down the pen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Step 4: Glue the End Down

Once you have wrapped the pen, put a little glue on the end and hold it down for a few seconds. Once secure, you have finished the basic making of your flower pen.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next steps are different ways I have decorated the pens.
Pen#1
For this pen I added three round clear flat back gems at the top, on each side of the pen.
Then for the top I glued on more round gems and for the center glued on a star gem
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pen # 2
This time I added black sequins to the side.
Then at the glued on more sequins and glued on a black sequin for the middle.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pen #3 (My favorite)
This one is a bit tricky. First , using the black permanent marker, you would need to draw a line that swirls around the pen starting from the top and continues swirling down to the bottom.
Next, using the hot glue gun, glue on the sequins(I used clear) to cover up the black line.
Next I the glued on sequins around the petals of the flower, which cause the petals to drop down.
In the center I glued a big clear gem.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Pencil

I realized that for a pencil, you can not do the whole pencil, but this is what I did.

After securing the pencil, I wrapped only two inches.

I decided to wrap the pencil with pearls since I could only do two inches.

When wrapping the pearls, I only glued down the first wrap. As long as the ends are secure, the pearls will not unravel.

Once I wrapped to the top, I glued down the last turn.

I noticed I could not properly wrap of the pencil. There was this tiny spec of green that I did not like.

So, I cut off three pearls from the string and glued them on the top.

I didn't do anything to the flower on top, but this is what it looks like.

Of course these are just samples of how you could decorate your pen/pencil. This is more of a guide of what you can do.

Have fun! Remember: Be creative, Be Imaginative and Make it your own!

Veggie/ Water Update: I did not watch my waters today. I can imaging I did not drink enough today, but I did drink 3 or 4 glasses. Veggies of course, I have down pat. It's just at times I forget to drink the stupid water!!!

Blogging Day 157: Piano Classes Have Begun

This semester I decided to take two 'fun' classes. I am taking piano and acting classes. Piano because I was always jealous of the girls that would do solos in church. I took acting because I heard it helps with shyness, so I decided to give it whirl. I am also taking the piano class with my mother and the acting class with my younger brother. There will be no slacking, because if I do, there will be no end to the teasing.

Anyway, today was my first Piano class. It was a lot harder then I thought it would be. I am having a hard time plaything the piano with both hands at the same time. They seem to have a mind of there own.  My hands will eventually bend to my will, of course. It's just until then, I see hours of practice in my future.

The professor is kinda intense. She is a young Asian woman who first started playing the piano when she was 3 years old!! How crazy is that! In class she would  lightly hit us on the shoulder, when we were not sitting up straight, playing the right notes, playing the notes the right way, or making noises that weren't  piano noises. I am very intimidated( not scary intimadating, they are some teachers that would belittle you, she will just tell you to do it right and to keep practing) but it definately will keep me in line and prepared for class.

Veggie/Water Update: Veggies fine, but I forgot the stupid water today. So I only had a glass or two at night. I also forgot to weigh in this morning. I only had three hours of sleep. No more coffee after 11am!

Blogging Day 154: Organizing with Hangers

I have a lot of clothes in my closet, mainly from items I sell on ebay. I have been looking for a way to condense them. These are two ideas that I have come up with.

I found the hangers below in a store where they sell things that are sold on TV. I bought them a long time ago, and forgot how much I paid for them. Later on, I was at a dollar store and saw them being sold there. I would look for them there first if you are thinking about buying them.

It allows you to have five garments on one hanger. Then it drops down (see below), allowing you more space to hang things up in your closet.

The next hanger is better for smaller items. I found this one at the dollar store, also. There is a little air fresher on top( reason for the diagonal design). The smell does not last long, but it just a foam pad, so I just sprayed some of my favorite perfume on it to refresh my closet.

I use these to hang my belts, but you could use them to hang your bras, tank tops, purses, or anything else that you can think of.

These are two simple changes on my journey to organizing and condensing my items into tinier spaces. Hope they are helpful to you.

Veggie/Water: Veggie is good, but the water I left at home. Oppsie! I only got three glasses.Better tomorrow.

Oh, and we are expecting an inch of snow tonight. Should be interesting to see what the roads look like tomorrow morning.

Blogging Day 153: Blah.. Blah... Blah...

I have just come out of a weekend of being sick. Saturday was ok, Sunday it started to hit and by Monday I was down for the count. This morning I woke up and looked outside at the sheet of ice that was covering everything, and I mean everything. I thought, for just a moment, that maybe being sick for just one more day wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Of course I did go to work, even though I went in about two hours late. I do not mind driving in the snow, but ice is another story all together. I waited for the streets to have the consistancy of a slurpee, and drove to work. The roads were not the worse part, it was the shards of ice coming off of other cars and flying towards your car at 60+ mph that scared the stuffings out of me. To my relief, I made it alive and slaved away for the man.

This past week I have been organizing my room. With goals to be out of the house this Fall, I have been figuring out ways to shrink my room storage. I am very spoiled in how much space I have in my room at my parent's house. I have my sleeping area and then I have a side room, which I call my walk in closet. Tons of space for tons of stuff!

I have found some very cool ways to condense all my junk into tiny spaces, and I will be posting them as the week goes by.

IF ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY TIPS ON ORGANIZING A ROOM, LET ME KNOW!!!

This task is a Herculean feat and I need all the help I can get! All help is appreciated!

Veggie/Fruit: Did good today. I have found if I have sugar-free caramel with my apples, it is a less painful to eat an apple.  I do not like plain apples. Ick! But having just a tiny bit of caramel makes it a nice treat and not a very costly one either.  You guys can find sugar-free carmel in the ice scream topping section or a different kind in your fruit section at your grocery store. I am currently using the Smuckers Sugar Free Caramel.
I didn't post it yesterday, because I was sick, but I gained .6lbs this week. I know why, I ate out alot last week at work.  I will definately have to cut back on that in the future.

Blogging Day 146: It's Snowing!!!

Just enough snow to make everything beautiful.
Yes,it is currently snowing outside! We are expected to only get about an inch or two, not the 5+ they were calling for yesterday. Here are some pictures of the snow!

Backyard.

At this moment, maybe only an inch.

For some reason, the dogs were the only ones willing to come out with me and play in the snow!

Angel playing in the snow.

Jasmine enjoying the snow.
 Veggie/Fruit/Water Thing:  I keep missing the last two servings of my veggies. GRRR!! I need to have one with breakfast. That would help. Fruit for breakfast. It's official!

Water: Good. This is a picture of the water bottles I use to keep track. Yes, per Ruth it is 8 8oz glasses of water that I should be drinking, not 8 16oz. This is about 10 8oz, I'm still thirsty after 8 glasses.

Yes, I am a fan of Hello Kitty and especially Zombie Hello Kitty. Not sure where the pink bottle came from, because I got that for Christmas from a friend, but my assumption is Target. The Zombie aluminum bottle came from Hot Topic. If you notice, Zombie Hello Kitty is to cute to have red blood, she bleeds pink blood! Girlieness abound!

Blogging Day 145: More Snow is Coming!

We in Maryland are about to get more snow! Currently, only 3-5", which is less then the 5+ they were calling for earlier today. Evidently, you have to live in the south to get all the snow this year ;op

Still have yet to get sick. I'm still hoping not to get it. Praying I do not get it.

Vegging/Water Thing: Going  strong. Forgot two servings of both V&F, and water on Sunday. I thought I did OK, but I miss counted. Forgive me, it was the weekend. I lost 2.4lbs this week. My friends and I started a thread on Facebook to support each other in the weight loss resolution. I hope it works.

Blogging Day 142: The Infection is Spreading

My work is currently a growing petri dish. The cold/flu is working it's way around the entire office. Every day someone becomes infected, it's worse then the Zombie Virus. I have been trying my best to not touch my eyes, and keep my hands clean, but Unfortunately, it takes only tiny little germ to find it's way into your body, breed and infests it's way through your entire system. Then once all that happens, the real fun begins!

I'm just waiting for my turn...

Veggie/Water Thingie: The water I accomplished, the veggies all I got were three. Very disappointed, but I tried, and there is always tomorrow.

Blogging Day 141: Resolutions

With every New Year comes new beginnings and as always the dreaded resolutions, that sound really good January 1, not so good on January 2. Here are the ones I came up with on New Years Day:

1. Lose Weight - an oldy but I am going to do it this time!!
2. I need to either find a new job or some how move-up in the company I work for.
3. Get a New Car. My car is a 2001 and falling apart.
4. Move out of my parents house. In order for this to happen Resolution #2 and #3 need to be achieved. I need to make a bit more money to live comfortable and I would like a new car before I leave so I do not need to worry about a major repair.
5. Get my butt back into church regularly. I have not done this in a long while and wish to get back into the habit.

I have been avoiding resolution #2 for a LONG time. I find avoiding things very easy. It helps that I have a horrible memory and I am easily distracted. I think big thoughts, then the next minute, it's,"O! Sparkly Glitter Thing!", and those deep thoughts are gone!

Don't get me wrong, my job is great! I love my boss and I love the two women I work with. Granted there are times when I want to cause them physical harm, but for the most part amazing women. Same with the job, best company I have ever worked for, but I need to start acheiving some kind of greatness.

Now, funny thing happened Monday morning as I walked into work, a hour and half late. My boss calls me into her office. My first thought was that my butt was going to be chewed up because of my lateness and I should have called out sick like I originally planned( I  had a major  headache when I woke up, so I took some pills and slept in alittle later then inteneded). No chewing took place, I was offered a job in the bid department, a promotion. My first reaction wasn't of happiness, it was ,"Crap, I seriously was hoping to avoid this issue for another month or so." There goes my months of blissful avoidance of an issue. Now time to choose, whether or not it would be best to grow in this company or throw my luck in with a new job in unstable economy.

After two days of thought and discussing the pros and cons with my parents, I decided to take the job. So it is Day 6 in 2011 and #2 has already been accomplished. The year is looking up! Go me! Kick butt! Xena eat your heart out!

Veggie, Fruit and Water Thingy: I suck! I totally suck! I haven't done anything! Starting tomorrow I am! I promise! I will even blog about it tomorrow. No more slacking! Death to slacking! Life to accomplishments!
